SquashMatrix was born in Canberra in the late 90s as an update to an existing competition system and for the purpose of being accessible to players like yourself. It was developed by Matthew Driver. Fast forward to today and the system is being used by tens of thousands of players and adopted by all states in Australia. In early 2012 Squash Australia took over and the first mission is to modernize the site and improve your experience.
The site you see now has been revamped with you in mind:
It's all about style | We've integrated with Squash Australia to provide a modern style. You'll want to use a modern web browser. No IE6 please. |
Staying clean | The news has been moved to its own area and you'll be notified when it needs to be looked at...reducing page clutter a lot. |
Faster information | Intuitively drill-down from the state, to event, to division, to your team in the blink of an eye. Or type your name in the search box at the top-right of the screen to jump straight to your page. |
Instant results | Log in and enter your pennant results right after playing. As a bonus, your ratings will be updated immediately. |
Stay up to date | Keep your contact information up-to-date from your player page so that your team mates and opposition can get hold of you. Don't worry, this information is only available to those who also play in your state. |
Looking good | Email your photo to have it uploaded to the site. Instructions are on your player page. |
Visual progress | Rating charts have been added to the team and player pages. Watch your team mates rise and fall on the team page. See how your next potential opponents have been doing from your own player page. |
Out and about | Mobile devices are now supported and can navigate to the team pages a lot quicker. Stay tuned, this will be improved upon. |
This is only the start and we'll continue to roll out new features. Keep an eye out!
The Squash Matrix is a Web-based Squash Ranking System developed to improve the method of ranking players. Unlike player average systems which are based on the result of a pennant game at a specific division and position, this new ranking system is based on player versus player results. There are multiple benefits from this player versus player system;
The Matrix is completely web-based. This means that the information is instantly accessible to a very high percentage of players. It also means that the results can be updated by multiple people concurrently from any location with web access.
This squash ranking system has been nicked named "SquashMatrix" because at the heart of the ranking system is a matrix of points that are added or subtracted to a players rating depending on the result of the games and the relative ratings between the two players.
The Squash Matrix Privacy Statement provides information on your privacy rights and how they apply to the Squash matrix website.
If you find an error in the results or have question regarding the competition please email the group organiser. Their contact details can be found on the 'contact' tab on each region's page.
